The slop barrel is a large bucket in the studio into which we put clay trimmings and scraps. These scraps are reworked back into usable clay to make the next batch of work.

Why is our studio cat, Big Time, so hilarious? We shot this photo while he was observing Michael throw during the Tuesday night class. Biggie isn't happy unless he can be as close to Michael as possible.
Michael is continuing to produce work for the summer art fairs. He was in Elmhurst, IL last weekend where he was given a prize for 2nd place! He will be heading to Indianapolis the weekend of May 17th for the Broad Ripple Art Fair. ![]()

Ok, we've been blog slackers. This first wave of art fairs has been exhausting! We are off to Peoria, IL this weekend for the Art Fair at Junction City, but that hasn't stopped Michael from working up to the last minute. He was at the studio until 5am this morning making some new amphoras, multi-spouted bottles, and platters! I shot some photos of the works in progress. Hopefully some of these new things will be done in time for the Old Town Art Fair in Chicago next weekend. - Patty

Art Fair Booth Gets a Makeover
A new coat of paint now dons our art fair booth and just in time for the Old Town Art Fair in Chicago this weekend! We picked out a lighter shade of yellow that we think shows off Michael's glazes. We're also firing a glaze kiln & hope to take some stunning new work to Chicago with us. One of the amphoras from below is in that kiln load, I'll try to shoot a photo tomorrow before we leave. Classes have been growing and we've added a few more time slots for those interested in taking a class this summer. Check out our class webpage for more info. - Patty ![]()
