Classes are open to all skill levels. Beginning
students start with basic wheel throwing skills and create bowls,
mugs, and plates. As students progress, complex forms such lidded
vessels and surface decoration techniques are covered. Students
create, trim, and glaze their own pots. All work is porcelain
and fired in the high fire gas kiln.
We focus on individual advancement in a group
setting. Rather than assigned projects, each student works at
their own pace and instructors are always available for help
with new forms, suggestions, and individualized instruction.

FINISHED PIECES
- The glazing process is unique and not an exact science. Glaze
colors vary from firing to firing based on the atmosphere
of the kiln and other factors.
- Firing occurs based on the amount of work available to
glaze fire, schedule of studio artists, etc.
- A variety of factors determine when the kiln is fired
& it may be several weeks between glazing and the completion
of student pieces.
